Winter concert blows crowds away
Choir could "Sing all night if they could."

Every year choir director Brandon Monse and band director Johnnie Tracey organize a winter concert for the school’s band and choir students. On Dec. 9, choir and band performed some pieces they did during the Candlelight Ceremony. Some of these songs included: “Silent night,” “Exceeding Great and Joy” and “Oh Holy Night.”
Choir students sang seven songs all together and would “sing all night if they could,” freshman Andrea Jorratt said.
The concert consisted of around 80-100 choir performers, showing the audience what they worked on all year. Students interested in the arts of music look forward to this concert every year.
“Music inspires us; singing is not a burden,” said Jorratt.
Students enjoyed performing all the songs but “my favorite song would have to be Oh Holy Night, because the melody is beautiful and the sopranos sound like angels,” senior Delilah Dumornay said.
Tickets were sold for five dollars each and were donated to charity. Choir students convinced others to attend the Winter Concert, not only to listen to the beautiful melodies but to help charity too.
“I’m glad the money was given to a good cause,” sophomore Molly Kaufman said.
Students take pleasure in performing during the winter time.
It’s perfect, just in time for Christmas,” Kaufman said.
Senior choir students were heartbroken when they realized it’s their last year performing at the Winter Concert.
“I’ll hopefully still come and watch it next year,” Dumornay said.
